Plans submitted by McDonald’s for advertising alongside its planned unit at Bridge Retail Park on Finchampstead Road have been approved.
The original plans included a 4.5-metre tall “totem” at the entrance to the park, but these were subsequently removed from the application.
The application that was approved by officers from Wokingham Borough Council will see the installation of a wall-mounted banner frame adjacent to the former Carpetright store.
Some objections related to the principle of allowing the global fast-food giant to open in the town, but the approved application related only to the associated advertising so were not considered.
