MINDSET Unlimited, which held a health and relaxation sound bath event in Wokingham last month, has raised more than £500 for women victims of acid attacks.
Through fundraising vehicle a-SISTERHOOD, Mindset Unlimited chose to support Stop Acid Attacks, a team in India which campaigns for better laws to deal with the issue, imprisonment for perpetrators, and justice for victims – the majority of whom are women.
Thanks to support from Wokingham businesses and individuals, at the June event more than £500 was raised for women acid attack survivors in Delhi.
“We chose to support a-SISTERHOOD because acid attacks are not talked about very much in most societies, especially in India,” said a Mindset Unlimited representative.
“They’re extremely common, though, and people don’t realise the impact that it has on a person’s mental health, career opportunities and their confidence, due to the significant scarring it causes.”
Visitors to the Mindset Unlimited event were able to take part in a prize draw raffle to support the charity, to learn about the origins of Sound Bath, and to use Singing Bowls.
Mindset Unlimited especially thanks: Axplore Travel & Event, Jays Printers, The Nutrition Space, Glow Infinity, Mindset Unlimited, BrownBag Cafe, Nuffield Health, Headmasters, Snappy Snaps, Core Connection, and Mr and Mrs Waters, for providing generous prizes and for supporting the event.
