More details have been revealed for the planned new McDonald’s restaurant in Wokingham.
Detailed plans have been submitted to Wokingham Borough Council for the refurbishment of Unit 2a at Bridge Retail Park on Finchampstead Road.
The unit is currently home to Carpetright.
Last week, it applied for advertising consent to install an advertising “totem” at the entrance to the site.
Now, new refurbishment plans submitted by the fast food giant show they are planning 74 covers for the site.
A spokesperson from McDonald’s Restaurants told Wokingham Today that it has no plans to operate a drive-thru on the site.
In May 2024, Wokingham Borough Council granted permission to the landlords, Columbia Threadneedle, for a change of use that could incorporate a restaurant and/or takeaway use for its property.
The new restaurant, which is not expected to be operational until 2025, is also expected to bring up to 120 full-time and part-time jobs to the town.
