A BOXING DAY murder investigation has been launched in Shinfield after a woman’s body was found in the early hours of this morning.
Although Thames Valley Police have arrested a man they are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
In a statement, the force said they were called to Parker Close around 5.40am on Wednesday, December 26 after the body of a woman in her 40s was found there.
It is believed to be an isolated incident.
A man, aged 47 from Shinfield, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.
A scene watch is in place in the area while officers are conducting enquiries to establish the circumstances.
Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Will Crowther based at Maidenhead police station, said: “We are in the early stages of enquiries and a murder investigation has now been launched.
“We have made an arrest in connection with the woman’s death.
“I would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything unusual in Parker Close earlier today and would encourage anyone with information to contact Police.”
