A NEW Headteacher has been appointed at a well-regarded Winnersh primary school.
Heidi Ray starts as Head of Wheatfield Primary School from this month.
Wheatfield, which is part of the GLF Schools multi academy trust, was judged to be ‘good’ by Ofsted in its most recent inspection, with strong praise for its inclusive ethos and dedicated staff team.
New headteacher Heidi Ray brings a wealth of leadership experience to her new role, coming from Battle Primary Academy in Reading, where she served as vice principal.
She said: “I am incredibly excited to join the Wheatfield community.
“It’s clear that the school is a special place, with a strong team and a genuine commitment to children’s development and wellbeing.
“I look forward to getting to know our pupils and families, and working together to ensure every child receives the best possible education.”
Mrs Ray is widely experienced in raising standards across the curriculum, supporting staff development, and building positive relationships with pupils, families, and the wider school community.
She is a passionate advocate for therapeutic approaches to behaviour and creating nurturing, inclusive environments that help children flourish.
Under her leadership the Battle Primary Academy was awarded ‘outstanding’ in all areas by Ofsted in November 2024.
Her appointment to Wheatfield marks an exciting new chapter for the primary school, reflecting its continued focus on excellence and pupil wellbeing.
