A HALF CENTURY from Sukhmeet Kang and a four wicket display from Iain Muirden helped Wokingham to clinch victory on the opening day of the season.
Cookham Dean won the toss and put Wokingham into bat. Several consistent batting performances contributed to a decent total as Kang’s half century was added to by James Bird who hit 46 from 62 balls and Danny Housego who knocked 30 runs from 60 balls.
Wokingham’s 196 from 46 overs was reverted to a revised target of 199 for Cookham Dean to chase from 46 overs.

Parsons batting
The Oaks made the ideal start as they dismissed Cookham’s opening pair for zero runs as Iain Muirden claimed both wickets. An impressive knock from Yasir Qureshi, who hit 44 from 85 balls, and a strong partnership with captain Patrick Castleden (27) helped Cookham to make a good attempt at chasing the target.
But they would eventually fall well short of the chase set by Wokingham after 46 overs as the Oaks cruised to a 50 run victory.
