A NEW priest will be coming from Epsom Common to the borough this May.
The parish of Finchampstead and California said that they are delighted to announce the appointment of the Revd Julian McAllen, currently curate of Christ Church, Epsom Common as ist new Associate Priest.
Mr McAllen’s ministry will begin with a special service of welcome which will start at 6pm on Sunday, May 7, at St James’ Finchampstead.
In a letter to parishioners, he said: “I am really excited about joining a team of people who are passionate about the goodness of God and his love for humanity.
“I thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many nice people at my interview and look forward to making many more friends once I start.”
Mr McAllen will take over from Mark-Aaron Tisdale, who is moving on in March. He will become rector of Glinton, Etton, Maxey, Peakirk and Northborough.
The new bishop of Oxford, the Rt Revd Bishop Dr Steven Croft will be visiting St Paul’s Church in Reading Road, Wokingham on Thursday, February 9.
The evening starts at 7.30pm and will see Bishop Steven answer questions from the congregation.
