A parked car almost caused chaos when council workers arrived to implement double-yellow lines.
The vehicle was parked on the Nine Mile Ride extension in Arborfield Green, meaning contractors were initially unable to complete the work.
Cllr Rebecca Margetts told Wokingham Today: “This was reported to me by a resident who lives in Arborfield Green.
“I could not quite believe this was true but as soon as I saw the photograph I reported it to Wokingham Borough Council.
“Residents have been waiting years for these double yellow lines and could not quite believe this gap had been left.
“I am pleased to say that after our reports to Wokingham Borough Council this has now been resolved and the gap filled in.”
A spokesperson for Wokingham Borough Council said: “Double yellow lines were recently completed on Nine Mile Ride in response to residents’ concern about parked vehicles causing hazards to drivers.
“A vehicle was parked in a spot where double yellow lines were due to be painted, so works were carried out in two parts at no additional costs to the council.”
