TYRESE FORNAH proved to be the match winner with his 90th minute goal to see Reading FC defeat Rotherham United.
Going into the contest without a win in their last six Championship games, the Royals needed to fix their slump to prevent getting dragged into the relegation scrap.
After falling a goal behind to the Millers who netted in the 32nd minute through Lee Peltier to create a tense atmosphere around the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
The home fans voiced their concerns at the half-time whistle as the hosts were booed off.
However, the second-half was a different story with Reading being ignited into action through a trio of substitutes.
Nesta-Guinness-Walker and Femi Azeez combined down the left to win a free-kick early after the restart.
Azeez’ superb delivery allowed Andy Carroll to tower high and power a header past the goalkeeper to put Reading on terms in the 52nd minute.
Heading into the final few moments of normal time, Fornah appeared when called upon to latch onto Carroll’s flick on and divert the ball past the keeper to break Rotherham hearts.
The win lifts Reading up to 13th in the Championship table prior to their Friday night trip to Cardiff City.
