Plans have been submitted to Wokingham Borough Council seeking approval to turn a former office building on the outskirts of Wokingham into 109 apartments.
Agents for owners Legal and General Assurance (Pensions Management) Ltd, have applied for a change of use for the Pinewood Campus, formerly the home of Johnson and Johnson, on Nine Mile Ride in Wokingham Without.
No external alterations are being proposed as part of the application for the site southeast of Wokingham.
The location is bound by the Nine Mile Ride with housing to the south, open land to the north; a wooded area with Pinewood Leisure Centre to the east and Pinewood House, set in woodland to the west.
The site comprises an existing commercial office building which is three-storeys in height and was most recently used by Johnson & Johnson.
Plans submitted with the application suggest there will be a mix of one-, two-, three- and four bed units.
The agents added they believe that prior approval is not required.
“If the local planning authority considers that prior approval is required, the information submitted with this application demonstrates that prior approval should be granted.”
The consultation for the plans remains open until September 10.
