An appeal for witnesses has been launched after another man has been attacked in Wokingham’s Station Approach – this time with an iron bar.
This incident has been described by police as GBH.
In recent weeks we have reported on a man who suffered a dislocated ankle during an assault outside The Station Tap. In that case, police said he was walking to the station with a friend when he was punched by a man which caused him to fall to the ground, causing the injuries.
And on Monday, a man was stabbed in Station Approach in a late night assault.
The latest incident took place on Saturday, March 23 about 1am in Station Approach.
The victims, two men aged 44 and 46, were approached by a group of young men and women and were then assaulted.
The victims were punched, and one of them was hit with what is believed to have been an iron bar. The group then ran away from the scene.
The victims sustained injuries which required hospital treatment, but have since been discharged.
One of the offenders is a white man, aged about 18 or 19. He is about 5ft 6ins to 5ft 7ins tall with a slight, wiry build.
He is described as having a round face with a large forehead and was wearing a black baseball cap, a black hooded top and black trousers with white trainers.
Detective Constable Robert-Simpson Jones, of Newbury Force CID, said: “This was a serious assault which left the victims with injuries requiring hospital treatment.
“I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this, or who has any information which they think could be relevant to our appeal.
“If you can help, please call 101, quoting reference 43190088435.”
