Residents in parts of the borough are waking up this morning to no electricity.

Postcode areas affected are RG5, RG6 and RG41: Woodley, Earley, Winnersh and Wokingham areas.

Power went down around 5.50am this morning and SSE don’t expect it to be restored until 9am.

It is not yet known what has caused the issue.

In a note on its website, SSE said: “We apologise for the loss of supply. We currently have a fault affecting the areas listed. Our engineers are on site working to get the power back on as quickly as they can. If you need more information, please call us on 0800 072 7282 and quote reference ‘CU5403′”
