CANTLEY Park will soon be alive with the sound of music. And eating. And drinking.
Yes, the annual Wokingham Festival is back for three fantastic days of family fun.
With an emphasis on food, drink and music, there is something for everyone to enjoy this weekend.
It starts at 6pm on Friday, August 25, with a beer festival run by the organisers of Twyford’s festival. All money raised from the sale of real ales and perries and ciders will go to the work of Orchid, the male cancer charity.
The team of volunteers will be working throughout the weekend to quench the thirst of visitors.
There will also be live music on Friday night and then throughout the weekend.
An important part of Wokingham Festival is the food.
Organisers have gathered a wide selection of exhibitors selling their award-winning produce, offer samples and give you a chance to meet the makers, ask them questions and learn more about what they are selling.
Exhibitors include Biltong Emporium, Bond Brews, Chiltern Natural Foods, Fruityfoods and Smoky Board, which offers Scandinavian cuisine.
There will also be some charity stalls including the Dogs Trust and the Cats Protection League.
If you just want to enjoy some food, there are some street food stalls serving fresjly made meals from around the world.
They include Hash In The Pan, Meat Street BBQ, Hungry Buddha, Purbeck Ice Cream and Robin’s Caribbean Kitchen.
The stalls will be all around Cantley Field, with enticing aromas designed to make your mouth water and your stomach rumble.
There is plenty for families to enjoy as well.
There is a specially-shaded children’s corner, where Circus Scene will be onhand to teach circus skills and tricks.
Magic Moments Entertainment will be showcasing balloon modelling, there will also be face painting and henna, as well as ice cream.
