The world’s first Lego duelling rollercoaster has been opened at the Legoland Windsor Resort this week.
The new £10 million Minifigure Speedway will take riders on speeds of up to 56kph (35mph) around the duel-track layout, as they go head-to-head with the opposing team, racing forwards and in reverse with a different team winning each time.
“The whole team is so excited to wave the chequered flag for our first riders,” said Helen Bull, divisional director at the Legoland Windsor Resort.
“From coaster testing to polishing the wheels of the Team Legends and Team Allstars cars, the team have been busy getting everything ready as we prepare to welcome guests to the starting line.
“We can’t wait to see the new coaster in action as riders race to become Minifigure Speedway champions.”
Featuring state-of-the-art technology, the new attraction has been inspired by speedways from around the world, and is suitable for those measuring 1.05m and above.
