Reading FC midfielder Kamari Doyle is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering an injury blow.
The 20-year-old, who is on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion, picked up the issue during recent action and is now a doubt for upcoming fixtures.
Doyle has been a regular presence for Reading since joining on a season-long deal, contributing in midfield as the club push through their League One campaign.
The injury, which was picked up in the win over Wigan, is understood to leave him doubtful for the Royals’ forthcoming match against Huddersfield Town, dealing a setback to manager Leam Richardson as he looks to maintain momentum.
Reading have been managing a number of fitness concerns within the squad in recent weeks, and Doyle’s absence would further test their depth during a crucial stage of the season.
Richardson’s squad have struggled with injuries in recent weeks after it was confirmed that both midfielder Randell Williams and defender Benn Ward would miss the remainder of the season.
No timeframe has yet been confirmed for his return, with the club expected to assess the extent of the injury in the coming days.
Doyle joined Reading in August and has since gained valuable first-team experience in League One, continuing his development away from his parent club.
Reading have a busy fixture schedule over the next few days as they host Lincoln City on Easter Monday following their away trip to Huddersfield on Friday.
