Reading Rockets Basketball Club captured silverware as they became the National Cup champions for the fifth time in their history.
Up against Hemel Storm in the final at the NBPC in Manchester, it was the Rockets who came out on top with a 108-83 victory to take the trophy.
Reading managed to get over the heartbreak of losing in the final last year to Milton Keynes Breakers and bounced back this campaign to add to their trophy cabinet as they picked up the National Cup for the first time since the 2013/14 season.
Speaking to BBC Sport after the match, chief executive Matt Johnson said: “It was a dream come true, magical.
“Since the win we’ve been getting messages of congratulations from people who played for the club up to around 25 years ago.
“Credit to our coaching team and staff and everyone at the club.
“The players were brilliant and credit to them for being able to hold their nerve against a great team.
“We don’t have the best roster or the biggest budget, but we have the best coaching staff and a group of guys that are just making it happen.”
The Rockets have an opportunity to add more success to their season when they face Milton Keynes Breakers at the Surrey Sports Centre in March in the final of the KitKing Trophy.
