A PIPE that burst, causing a torrent of water down a town centre street, has been repaired.
South East Water’s Leakbusters team visited Denmark Street today (Monday) to carry out the work on the burst water main, which we understand starting leaking yesterday.
Our photographer Paul King took these pictures which show cars making a splash as they go through the waters.
However, the Leakbusters leapt into action to quickly rectify the leak, which is on one of main roads in the town centre.
South East Water’s regional network manager, Steve Benton, told The Wokingham Paper: “Our team has been on site today and repaired the leak as quickly as possible and with minimal disruption.
“Finding and fixing leaks quickly is a priority to us. We have a dedicated team of Leakbusters who work around the clock detecting and repairing leaks on our network.
“We also rely on the public to report leaks to us, so if anyone spots a leak, please do call our Leakline 0333 000 3330.”
