Pinewall – Stealing Lightbulbs
This band made our Top 20 of 2023 and released a single that was our photographer, Andrew Merritt’s fave of the year.
Now, Pinewall, have released their first single of the year and it’s a blast of powerful indie rock with very intense emotional lyrics that are screamed out brilliantly in an impressive vocal performance over solid playing by a tight band of musicians.

Radical Dance Faction – Rogue Trooper
RDF are a legendary festival band formed in Hungerford back in the late 1980s by musician Chris Bowsher who has been the only constant member of the band over the years.
They will be performing their impressive blend of dub, ska and punk at Reading’s Purple Turtle this Easter Sunday, so that’s a good excuse to have a listen to this track from their 2019 album Daydream Dystopia.

Ghost Dance – I Will Wait
Here’s another legendary band, this time from the world of 1980s goth.
The band split in 1989, but reformed in 2019 by vocalist Anne-Marie Hurst.
They are coming to Reading’s Face Bar on April 18 thanks to those wonderful promoters Club Velocity / New Mind Promotions.

Lust For Life Band – Neighbourhood Threat
It’s the band we saw on our recent road trip to the O2 Academy in Islington.
