SUMAS slipped out of the Reading Senior Cup with a resounding 4-1 loss at Hellenic Division One East rivals Wallingford.
Without boss Dan Bateman who was absent from the game, Wokingham trailed 2-0 at half-time and the lead was extended after centre-back Joe Cummuskey had been sent off.
Josh Harris pulled one back for the 10 men, but Wallingford netted again late on to win 4-1 and move into the semi-finals.
Sumas had not played a competitive fixture since March 2 against Burghfield in the previous round and there were four changes from that side with Dan Carter, Cummuskey, Jordan Rowland and Ellis Day handed starts.
And Day almost broke the deadlock early on, but could not keep his shot on target. Instead, Wallingford got their noses in front from the penalty spot following a handball by Jake White.
The lead was doubled before the break with Charlie Dean the closest to pulling one back for the visitors.
The night went from bad to worse for Wokingham when Cummuskey was given his marching orders having been deemed to be the last man and the resulting free-kick flew into the bottom corner.
Harris then netted a fine free-kick himself to bring the score back to 3-1 but a powerful late header sealed victory for Wallingford.
Wokingham return to league action on Saturday, away at AFC Aldermaston (3pm).
