SHINFIELD residents can now discover more about the history of their parish, thanks to a visual look back through time.
A glass timeline marking the village’s key events has been installed at Shinfield Parish Council’s base at the School Green Centre, just to the left of the main reception.
From the founding of Shinfield Infant School in 1707 and the parish council’s formation in 1894, to the openings of Orchard Rise Allotments and Manor Ground Pavilion this year, the fixture provides perspective on Shinfield’s growth over the past three centuries.
The parish council invites visitors to enjoy a hot drink or at the next-door Robyn’s Nest Cafe or a novel from its micro-library.
The facility is open to the public between 9am-5pm from Monday-Saturday and between 10am-4pm on Sundays.
