OPERA lovers will be treated to an evening of musical comedy at Shinfield St Mary’s Church.
Finnish soprano Mary-Finne Bray and her friends at La Kala opera company will be performing Menotti’s The Telephone and Lucy and Ben’s Engagement Party on Saturday, September 2.
With ‘witty humour’ mixed in with excellent music, visitors will follow Ben’s attempts to grab Lucy’s attention in an attempt to propose to her – but she’s too busy gossiping on the phone.
The story follows the couple through to their engagement party.
Suitable for both adults and children, attendees will experience Marie’s vocal range, which has seen her previously master pieces ranging from Cosi fan Tutte to Phantom of the Opera and Jesus Chirst Superstar.
Refreshments will be served at the church.
Tickets are £10 and can be purchased online; the concert takes place at 7.30pm.
