A TWYFORD horticultural centre hosted a day of free planting tips demonstrated by an award-winning garden designer.
TV presenter and author Adam Frost was the special guest at Squire’s Hare Hatch Garden Centre’s spring event.
The store is Squire’s newest location on Floral Mile, Twyford, and the event was a special occasion for the recently opened centre.
Guests were warmly greeted by Sarah Squire, Chairman of Squire’s Garden Centres, who introduced Adam before he took to his potting bench to share his gardening passion and practical knowledge.
During the day, he delivered two inspiring sessions demonstrating how to create garden container interest throughout the seasons.
He also shared ideas for growing fruit and vegetables in pots, offering accessible tips for gardeners of all levels.
His relaxed style and enthusiasm made for an interactive and welcoming experience, with plenty of time for audience questions.
Sarah Squire, Chairman of Squire’s Garden Centres, said: “It was a real pleasure to welcome Adam to our new Hare Hatch centre.
“He was incredibly generous with his time and knowledge, and it was lovely to see so many people engaging with his advice and enjoying the day.
“We’re so proud of our team who worked hard to prepare the centre for this event, making it a wonderful day for our customers.”
Each of Adam’s demonstration sessions was completed with a book signing session, where he met with customers, posed for photos and signed copies of his latest book For the Love of Plants – which was so popular that all the copies he brought with him on the day were sold.
The team at Squire’s Hare Hatch were delighted with visitor attendance on the day, and the positive feedback they received.
Many customers were visiting for the first time since the site became the 17th centre in the Squire’s group earlier this year – its second in Berkshire.
With an extensive range of plants, many of them home grown, its welcoming cafe bar and lots of fresh stock, Squire’s Hare Hatch is establishing itself as a favourite destination for gardeners in the local area.
