A HORTICULTURAL centre in Hare Hatch has revealed its new look café bar.
The refit pays homage to Squire’s Garden Centre’s founding year, 1936, when D.J Squire established the family business, reflecting the colours, tones and decor of 1930s art deco while retaining a modern, comfortable dining experience with extended seating for up to 190 guests.
The new servery, which evokes the charm of a 1930s shop counter with decorative wooden-style storage, cloches, and jars, includes The Nook, a peaceful seating area that can be hired for private functions.
A separate indoor dog-friendly area is also being trialled, allowing visitors to enjoy a drink or bite to eat alongside their four-legged friends.
And environmentally friendly lighting and climate-controlled air management aims to ensure comfort and improved energy efficiency.
Graham Fitsell, Squire’s Hare Hatch Centre Manager, said: “We are so excited to welcome customers to our brand-new Café Bar, Squires 1936.
“It provides a fresh new look and a wonderfully relaxed environment for customers to enjoy, whether they’re here for a quiet moment in The Nook, visiting with their dog, or sampling our new menu.
“We’re really proud that this new space offers something for everyone and enhances the overall experience at Hare Hatch.”
New shelving is filled with vintage and historical gardening book displays and decorative greenery, and visitors can enjoy perusing historical photographs from the family archive that reflect the Squire family business legacy.
Sarah Squire, Chairman of Squire’s Garden Centres, said: “The relaunch of the centre’s Café Bar has provided a wonderful opportunity to incorporate aspects of our history and heritage at Hare Hatch.
“As we look forward to celebrating our 90th anniversary next year, Squires 1936 is both a nod to our founding years and a celebration of our enduring values.
“We hope customers will enjoy the thoughtful details, from the décor and artwork to the menu, all of which reflect who we are and our story.”
Squire’s launches a new menu on Tuesday, October 14, with highlights at Hare Hatch including slow braised lamb shank, traditional fish pie, and pumpkin and ricotta ravioli.
Customers can order at the counter, or via the Friends of Squire’s loyalty App for faster ordering.
