SCHOOLS in the borough have been sending out warnings after a stranger was spotted asking children if they wanted a lift in his car.
The warning states that in an incident on Monday, the man was driving a long silver car – possibly a Mercedes. He stopped and asked a pupil if they wanted a lift.
We are not naming the school involved, but it took place in the Winnersh/ Sindlesham/ Woosehill area.
The school has sent out a note to parents, seen by The Wokingham Paper, asking them to remind children about Stranger Danger and to tell an adult as soon as possible.
A second incident has been reported by a parent on an internet forum.
This is thought to have taken place on Tuesday, June 14, in the Earley area of Wokingham. This was around 3.30pm.
The parent said that a boy was walking along the road when a silver car slowed down, stopped and the driver then said something to the boy.
The writer said: “The boy didn’t appear to know the driver.”
To report a crime, call 101 or 999 in an emergency. Thames Valley Police also accept reports online.
