THE Post Office service in Swallowfield has resumed.
Swallowfield Parish Stores was closed by the former owner, Naresh Kumar, on Wednesday, August 18, last year after a series of discussions about its lease.
The general goods shop has been run by Jasdeep Singh and his wife, Avneet Juneja, since September, but the Post Office service was unavailable.
However, Swallowfield Parish Council, the shop’s landlord, has confirmed that the Post Office service restarted on Thursday, January 27.
A spokesperson for the council said: “We are delighted to confirm the Post Office is now open.
“Please be patient with Jasdeep and Vicky as they get up to speed and note that vehicles cannot be taxed yet, but that service will be coming soon.”
The Post Office is open 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday and 9am to 12.30pm on Saturdays.
