POLICE cordoned off parts of Woodley’s shopping precinct on Saturday morning following a break-in at the McColl’s Post Office.
The shutters to the store on Crockhamwell Road were forced at the bottom, allowing thieves access.

Once inside, they stole cigarettes.
An area of pavement outside the store had skid marks left on it and this was taped off by police to allow their investigation to take place.
On Saturday morning, two police cars were at the scene, with officers directing pedestrians away from the area.
All other shops in the precinct were unaffected and, like the market, open as usual.

The McColl’s store houses a Post Office branch at the back of the store, and it also sells newspapers, magazines, stationery, confectionery and snacks.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “There was a break-in at McColl’s in which cigarettes were stolen.
“It was reported to us at about 2.45am on Saturday, February 24.
“No one was injured in the incident, and we are carrying out an investigation.”

It follows two similar raids in the early hours of Thursday, February 8, thieves struck at the Morrisons in Crown Row in Bracknell, and then the Morrisons supermarket in Woosehill. On both occasions, they stole cigarettes.
