The mayor of Wokingham town, Cllr Lou Timlin, will lay a wreath on the town’s war memorial to mark the 80th anniversary of VJ Day on Friday.
The event, at 11am on Friday, August 15, will be followed by a two-minute silence to remember those from Wokingham borough, and beyond, who fought in across south east Asia, Japan and the Pacific.
The event is open to the public, and anyone wishing to attend is asked to be at the war memorial on the first floor of Wokingham town hall by 10.50am.
