Work to repair a collapsed sewer in Knowl Hill will start on Monday, July 8.
Thames Water said that the project – on the A4 Bath Road near the Esso petrol station – is expected to take about two weeks.
During the works, two-way temporary traffic lights will be in operation during the work and will be manually controlled from 6.30am to 8pm to ease traffic congestion.
A spokesperson for Thames Water said: “This is an important repair to prevent sewage leaking from a broken pipe and polluting the environment.
“We understand the associated roadworks may cause disruption and would like to thank residents for their patience while this work is carried out.”
