Andrew Mickleburgh, Lib Dem

I have lived in Earley since 2004 with my wife and daughter. A strong commitment to community service and campaigning has always been a huge part of my life.
I am a committed volunteer with many local and national groups including those assisting senior citizens, the environment and international development.
In 2019, after a career in education which included 25 years in Africa and the Pacific Islands, I was honoured to be elected as a Borough and Town Councillor in Hawkedon Ward.
As a borough councillor I currently chair or vice-chair committees scrutinising Children’s Services, Planning and Overview and Scrutiny Management. I was privileged to play a leading role in the successful campaign by residents and my Lib Dem colleagues to stop a supermarket and homes being built on Swallows Meadow.
I am now working on ways to preserve this green space for future generations.
Vishal Srinivasan, Conservative

I’m Vishal, a first-year university student who is keen to make a difference by representing local people. These are difficult times for everyone, whether you are young or old, single or with a family, and our council should be doing what it can to help.
I share many of the concerns I hear on the doorsteps and in local social media.
I strongly oppose the prospect of collecting rubbish and recycling every two or three weeks as I know how much of an impact that would have on our kitchen!
Another issue I know many residents are concerned about is the need to carefully control housing development. This is a beautiful area and I will fight to protect it and ensure there is only very limited development as we have had enough new housing here.
I want to work with our MP to ensure there is proper local input to planning reform and an end to high target numbers of new homes for the borough.
Please contact me if you have any questions, want to share your views or to help my campaign. With your support on 4 May, I can be a fresh strong voice on the council representing you.
