Wescott ward has gained two new Lib Dem councillors.
Rob Coomber, who later this month will be installed as Wokingham town mayor, and Chris Cooke will be among the politicians making their debut when the annual council meeting takes place.
Cllr Coomber said he was very pleased to have been elected to the borough council.
“This shows the advances the Liberal Democrats have made in the local area, and the trust the residents are placing in us,” he said.
“My priorities will be to identify the issues that are particularly relevant to the residents of my ward, some of which I have found out while canvassing and knocking on doors.
“I make a point of asking people what problems they have.
“I will do my best to represent them.”
The newly elected Cllr Cooke said being elected on his first attempt was “a fantastic feeling”.
He continued: “I think it’s a huge privilege to have been chosen by so many people to represent the community I have stood for.
“I feel genuinely lucky to be in this position and that so many people have shown their support.
“We have had a fantastic team of people, and a fantastic showing from the people.”
