THOSE presenting minor illnesses are being advised to take advantage of a walk-in facility in Reading town centre.
Reading Urgent Care Centre is located on the first floor of Broad Street Mall and is open from 8am-8pm, seven days a week.
It serves people demonstrating conditions, such as: ENT, urinary tract infections, non mechanical lower back pain, exacerbation of long-term chronic illness, infections, abdominal pain, women’s health issues and other minor illnesses.
There are 50 walk-in appointments available each day.
The centre does not deal with more serious conditions, such as: seizure, head injury, dental pain, DVT, diabetic emergency, stroke and more.
Individuals are advised to contact NHS 111 or their GP. In life-threatening emergencies, people should ring 999 or go straight to the Emergency Department.
