Thames Valley Police assisted colleagues from West Mercia Police with the arrest of a 32-year-old man who had been wanted on suspicion of two burglaries in Worcester.
A Thames Valley Police spokesperson told Wokingham Today that its officers were involved in the operation in Market Place at around 4.30pm on Monday, February 19.
Reports on social media suggested the incident took place close to Superdrug, opposite the town hall.
The spokesperson also confirmed the Thames Valley Police helicopter, which was seen by many residents over central Wokingham at the time, was part of the operation.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police confirmed it led the operation, and was assisted by Thames Valley Police colleagues.
It is believed the helicopter was used in the operation as the suspect had originally made off, before being located in central Wokingham.
West Mercia covers the area west of the Midlands, including Herefordshire, Shropshire and Worcestershire.
