READING FC boss Ruben Selles has confirmed that the club still has plenty of transfer targets before the end of the window despite financial issues.
The Royals have twice this summer been placed under a strict embargo by the EFL for missed HMRC payments.
The club has now been removed from the strict embargo but are still limited to only signing free agents and loan players.
Selles confirmed that he met with club owner Dai Yongge last week to discuss future plans.
He also revealed that the club are currently under an embargo for the next four windows, a decision that he expects the club to appeal against.
“He said he (Dai Yongge) was ready to solve it and after 48 hours it was solved,” said Selles.
“We can only sign loan players or players that are free agents.
“This situation is with the lawyers. They make a decision and then we can appeal. Right now to look at two or three transfer windows is too far so right now we focus on this transfer window which is the most important thing.
“For the transfer window now and in January, we have this ban. That’s as much as I know.
“We are working on a couple of players that could be announced.
“We are ready to compete and the situation is much better than it was last week.”
Selles is keen to add another goalkeeper to the squad and also has his eye on opportunities in the loan market.
He continued: “We will see how the market is going. We will see.
“Lets see the opportunities we are working with clubs in England and abroad so we need to be smart.
“We are managing different situations but using the rule that we can have five (loan players) in the squad, we have to take advantage.”
