Thursday, November 1 was the first day on the job for Wokingham Borough Council’s new director of children’s services.
Carol Cammiss was assistant director for quality assurance, safeguarding standards and policy and performance.
The council said that she brings a wealth of experience including roles at Surrey County Council and the London Borough of Merton. At the latter, she was responsible for the design and implementation of strategic plans, improving leadership and managing Ofsted inspections.
Speaking on her appointment, Carol said: “I’m delighted and look forward to embracing new opportunities as director of children’s services in Wokingham Borough.”
Council leader, Cllr Charlotte Haitham Taylor said: “The director of children’s services provides valuable leadership in delivering our priorities which ensure partners work together to safeguard our children and deliver high quality education for all.
“I wish her every success in her new role.”
