A CARE home resident from Wokingham was given a special trip, and a day out filled with memories.
Staff at Barchester’s West Oak Care Home took Peter to Warwickshire, to visit his cousin Jayne.
Activity co-ordinator Dawn drove the minibus, accompanied by volunteer Jean and Peter’s support worker Colin, for his special day trip out.
Meeting up with Jayne, the group visited Wellesbourne Mountford Airfield to see the light aircraft before going on to Stratford Butterfly Farm.
Peter’s cousin was over the moon to see him, and was delighted the pair were able to spend some quality time together in her hometown.
“Peter was all smiles and we could all see how much the trip meant to him, even the beautiful coloured butterflies landing on him,” said Dawn.
“It was certainly a lovely day to remember.”
General manager Simona Cioinac said: “We absolutely love being able to take our Residents out and about.
“It makes us so happy to be able to arrange trips like this.
“It was a fantastic day and they all thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”
