WOKINGHAM & EMMBROOK moved further away from danger after they earned three points and a clean sheet against CB Hounslow.
As the start took the ball to both ends of the pitch, Joe Cummuskey sent the ball out to the right wing but the push through to the middle saw the ball return to the visitors and one of them strode upfield half the length of the pitch whereby there was no goal to boost morale.
As the ball was cleared upfield, Sumas gained a free kick and the quarter of an hour was upon the players when Jack Mullan opened the scoring for Wokingham & Emmbrook.
After the initial shock, Hounslow began to attack but from a strong clearance kick by them, the incoming ball was crucially cleared away by Sumas defenders.
Churchill then took a free kick which gave the Hounslow forwards a chance to look to goal but they gained a corner.
Diak John was injured and Eliot Whitehouse replaced him with Dan Carter.
Hounslow made ground in the Sumas territory but Charlie Tuttle managed to see the ball out of play preventing a Hounslow man from winning the ball.
As Sumas moved around their half, Will Shaw moved up and sent in a cross which went out of play. Battling for domination in the middle of the park made no progress but Matteo Milazzo took a shot that curled wide of Woodward’s goal.
A corner kick by Hounslow was relatively easy for Woodward to claim and the half finished after two free kicks by the visitors.
Restarting after the break, Hounslow moved up to Wokingham’s penalty area but the finishing attempt was very tame and Woodward collected the ball comfortably.
After that, the rest of the second half consisted of a mixture of route one to reach the forwards and some indifferent attempts at starting a move and losing possession which was a situation shared by both teams.
Churchill one end and Woodward the other set the trend for much of the time.
Sumas were going for an outright winner which never happened and Hounslow were hoping to get an equaliser.
Although Mindomba broke through the Hounslow defence, he just could not find the net or a team mate to run on to score for Sumas.
Wokingham and Emmbrook had the edge but could have taken chances more.
The Sumas face St.Panteleimon at Lowther Road next Saturday.
