A BUSINESS networking group that meets over breakfast opened its doors to welcome visitors last Friday.
The BNI Wokingham chapter, which meets at Sand Martins Golf Club from 6.30am on Fridays, held an open session where members could bring along invited guests.
The group, which aims to grow business by passing referrals to each other, only admits into membership one of each category of business to avoid any potential clashes.
After a full English breakfast, each member and visitor can introduce themselves and what they do before hearing a more indepth presentation from a member.
“Each week, a member gets 10 minutes to make a presentation,” explained chapter president Ray Cook.
Each business referral is logged and last week, there were 45 such referrals passed around the room.
As members see their business grow, they can move up levels.
Secretary/Treasurer Lynn Gunston told the meeting of her success: “I’m on my sixth level of referral. I’ve never been so high, BNI really does work.”
Tomorrow morning’s meeting will include a presentation by Andrew Halstead of ATP Plumbing.
