AN ART exhibition in Wokingham this week will help a school celebrate its centenary.
Luckley House School will display works by Paul Hobbs just in time for Valentine’s Day.
Called The Heart of Things, the exhibition will feature paintings and sculptures based on social and religious issues, which the artist says have proved most engaging and challenging with every kind of audience, young or old, religious or atheist, artistic or not.
The exhibits include work on famine, old age, fatherhood, our capacity for violence, suffering, the Beatitudes and the Trinity, as well as an installation of shoes and stories from Christians all around the world.
Mr Hobbs is a Gloucester-based artist whose work has been displayed in galleries and cathedrals across Britain.
The works will be on display at the school’s Drake Hall from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Wednesday, February 13 and from 7pm to 9pm on Thursday, February 14.
The school is on Luckley Road, just off Finchampstead Road.
