CHARITIES were delighted with the success of this year’s Volunteer Fair.
Held in Wokingham Town Hall on Saturday and organised by the Wokingham Volunteer Centre, the event saw at least 20 people sign up to help the borough’s good causes.
Helena Badger, Volunteer Development Coordinator, said: “The Wokingham Volunteer Centre has run this event many times before, but this year the combination of moving it to a more central location at Wokingham Town Hall and holding it in the New Year led to the best turnout ever.
“We had well over 170 people through the door! The charities were delighted and one of which signed up as many as 20 or more volunteers.
“It is a great opportunity for the people of Wokingham to find out more about the amazing work our local charities and how they can get involved.”
