WOKINGHAM Lions Club holds regular fundraising comedy nights.
Three comics perform at each of its monthly shows, along with a master of ceremonies to introduce the acts.
the group says its events are very popular, and has released performance dates for its next season of humour, through to May 2024.
A different charity will benefit from each of the events.
People wanting to have a good laugh can enjoy a night of comedy while helping to raise money for local good causes, on the following dates:
Friday, October 6, Home-Start, Wokingham District.
Friday November 17, Camp Mohawk
Friday February 2, Wokingham Foodbank
Friday March 1, Thames Hospice
Friday May 17, Thames Valley Air Ambulance.
All events take place at Wokingham Theatre, with proceeds from ticket sales distributed by Wokingham Lions Club to charities and good causes, predominantly in the borough.
Profits from the theatre bar help to support Wokingham Theatre, which is also a registered charity.
And a raffle at each event raises funds for a different local guest charity each month.
A few tickets remain for the group’s first comedy night of the season, on October 6.
Wokingham Lions says these are selling fast, and advises people to book quickly to avoid disappointment.
Woky Comedy Nights are for over 18’s only.
Free parking is available, with doors and the bar open from 7.30pm.
The main show starts at 8.30pm, and tickets costing £18 plus booking fee can be purchased from Wokingham Theatre, at: www.wokinghamtheatre.org.uk or via a link from www.wokinghamlions.org.uk
