Thames Valley Police have confirmed that they have arrested a woman on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.
The police have said that they are aware of an incident which took place in Wokingham in which two cats were shot at with an air rifle.
Police’s investigations are still ongoing and they have asked the public not to speculate.
A statement from Thames Valley Police says: “We would ask the public not to speculate on the circumstances while the investigation is ongoing.”
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said the woman has since been released on bail while further investigations continue.
The spokesperson added the incident is believed to have taken place in Winnersh.
