Woodley residents will see an increase of 87p per month on the Town Council portion of their council tax for 2026/27, the council has announced.
The rise brings the annual Town Council Tax for a Band D property to £117.09. Despite the increase, the charge remains only 20p per month higher than it was in 2013/14.
The council cited significant rises in utility and staffing costs, including a 55% increase in utility and National Insurance expenses over the past two years, as the reason for the adjustment.
Cllr Keith Baker, Leader of Woodley Town Council, said: “We have worked hard to keep this increase as low as possible while protecting the services, parks and community buildings that residents rely on. Even with more facilities to maintain than many neighbouring councils, Woodley’s Town Council Tax remains excellent value for money.”
The council confirmed that all local services and facilities will continue as before.
