An amazing 4,441 tickets were sold during the first 2.5 hours of sales for events at this year’s Wargrave Festival.
Long queues formed from early last Saturday morning ahead of the start of sales for what has become the highlight of the Wargrave community since the first event in 1975.
First in line were Tony and Deborah Luff, who secured their ticket for Pub on the Green.
Highlighting how popular the event has become as a gathering for family and friends, those 4,441 tickets were sold to 306 people on the first day.
Ally Holloway, who looks after marketing for the event, told Wokingham Today: “For s second year, Pub on the Green has proved very popular and tickets have already sold out.
Other events that have already sold out include a classical concert at St Mary’s church, the family-friendly silent disco, jazz on a summer’s night, Festival Ibiza and the comedy night.
Ally added that tickets are still available for more than 30 other events.
This year’s theme is ‘Gold Fever’, and it aims to be a golden anniversary celebrating all that makes up the community.
The 19-day festival features a host of fun-filled family delights, dazzling formal events, spirited theatre, musical performances and roving culinary delights.
Tickets for many events are still available.
