An appeal has gone out for witnesses after a teenager was robbed in a cut through in Shinfield close to one of the busiest roundabouts in the borough.
The 15-year-old was attacked between 6pm and 7pm on Monday, January 15, in the alleyway off Shinfield Road. Police say that the alley links the road to Greenwich Road and close to the Shinfield Players Theatre and the Black Boy roundabout.
Two men demanded money and threatened the victim with a blade. The teenager left the money he had on the ground and ran away. He was uninjured.
Thames Valley Police said that the first offender is described as a man, around 6ft, with an average build and was wearing dark clothing. He was wearing a balaclava to cover his face. He was also wearing a dark grey puffer jacket possibly with a Nike logo, and black baggy trousers.
The second offender is described as a man, around 5ft 8ins with an average build. He was wearing a black hoody with red sections on the front, which was pulled so tight at the hood that it concealed his face.
One of the offenders had a dark coloured bag strapped across his body and a mountain bike.
Investigating officer Claire Morgan, based at Loddon Valley police station, said: “This incident occurred at a busy time of the day close to the busy area of Shinfield Road. It was a very distressing incident for the victim and we are working to locate those responsible.
“If you saw this incident, or have any information relating to it which you think could help our investigation, please get in touch.
“Anyone with any details should call the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number on 101.”
