A GROUP of literature enthusiasts will be hearing about young eighteenth century writers on tour.
Members of Wokingham Literary Society will learn about a time when it was fashionable for wealthy young Englishmen to travel to the continent to acquire culture and good manners.
Guest speaker Doug Irvine will discuss several writers who recorded their view of their GrandTour, the places and people they visited, and their fellow travellers.
The group meets monthly at the Lecture Room, Wokingham Baptist Church, and welcomes visitors and guests.
The next event takes place at Wokingham Baptist Church, Milton Road, on Thursday, September 19, from 7.30pm until 9.30pm.
