Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman in her forties was killed in a hit and run collision in Bracknell on Monday.
Police and ambulance services were called to Bay Road in Bracknell after a pedestrian had been hit by a black coloured Ford.
The victim was rushed to hospital, but died on Tuesday after sustaining serious injuries.
Police have confirmed that the driver did not stop at the scene and believe that they fled the scene on foot.
A 32-year-old man from Bracknell has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, driving with no insurance and failing to stop at the scene of a collision. He has been released on police bail while investigations continue.
A 30-year-old woman from Bracknell has also been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, assisting an offender, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision. She has been released under investigation.
Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Lyndsey Blackaby, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Very sadly, as a result of this incident, a woman has died of her injuries in hospital.
“My thoughts and the thoughts of all of us at Thames Valley Police are with them at this extremely upsetting and difficult time.
