The purpose of the funding is to ensure local authorities are well-equipped and supported to implement the changes in the revised National Planning Policy Framework..
Eligible local authorities were invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to request a share of this funding. Those have been reviewed, and 133 local authorities have been awarded a share of £9.31 million Green Belt review funding.
Wokingham’s joint application with Windsor and Maidenhead, Slough, and Bracknell Forest councils has been awarded a combined £280,000.
In addition to this funding, the government has announced funding to support with local plan delivery.
Local authorities have been invited to submit an EOI, and the government will announce which local authorities have been awarded local plan delivery funding in due course.
