Changes have been made to alcohol sales at a fuel station in Wokingham.
The Shell service station on the A329 London Road connects Wokingham town centre with Binfield and Bracknell. It is situated near St Crispin’s school and leisure centre, and is run by Shell Select.
The company applied to sell premixed alcohol drinks, such as Smirnoff, Gordons and Captain Morgan cans, outside of the counter where the other spirits are located.
This also covered soft drink mixers, including 150 ml cans of coke, lemonade and flavoured sodas.
Shell Select submitted a licensing application for the change to its existing premises licence, which stipulates that all spirits have to be sold behind the counter.
The application was granted by Wokingham Borough Council after a statutory consultation that ended last month.
The fuel station is open 24 hours a day.
