Rachel Burgess, Labour
Rachel grew up locally and has lived in Wokingham for over 15 years.
She works as a Finance Director in the charity sector and has three children, all of whom attend Wokingham schools.
Phil Cunnington, Independent
Phil has lived in Wokingham for 22 years and always in Norreys ward.
After 20 years in IT project management, He joined an out of hours GP service and for the last 8 years has been General Manager of an
NHS Primary Care Mental Health service in Hampshire.
His daughters both attended Keep Hatch School and then the Holt School and he has helped raise funds for KeepHatch school in various ways but for the last 15 years has given up time to run the Parents Association quiz twice a year, raising many thousands of pounds for school projects.
He is the only 2018 Norreys candidate that actually lives in Norreys, so what is happening in Norreys affects him and his family and he understands how changes affect the residents and the local community.
The knowledge and experience he brings are in health and mental health, social care, project planning and education.
David Lee, Conservatives
David Lee has served the Norreys Ward as a Borough Councillor. He is married to Jean, a Special Needs Teacher, they have three grown up children who all live and work in the area. The family have lived in Wokingham for the last 32 years.
David is a chartered accountant who runs an engineering company in Fleet having previously served as a navigator in the navy. He has always played an active part in the local community having been a Scout Leader for 12 years and was also a non-executive director of the Royal Berkshire Ambulance Trust.
David has previously led your Council to bring forward continued improvements to our schools, including the new Science Block at St Crispin’s, new roads and railway station and new dementia care housing at Beeches Manor.
Morgan Rise, Liberal Democrats
Morgan Rise lives in Wokingham town and knows Norreys well. He knows what matters to residents and what their priorities are.
Morgan says “I am delighted to be chosen as the Lib Dem candidate for Norreys. The current council has done so much damage to our town. I believe it is time for a change.
I look forward to campaigning to increase school funding, provide more truly affordable homes in the borough, increase recycling and in particular kerbside collection of glass and to reduce the Council’s ever increasing dangerous debt.”
