THE LEXICON shopping centre in Bracknell is inviting charitable causes and community groups to apply to its The Lexicon Charity Fund.
Groups should be from within the borough of Bracknell Forest, and five awards of up to £5,000 each will be awarded to successful applicants.
Sue Boor, head of marketing at The Lexicon says:
“The local community has helped raise money towards our charity fund, so we are thrilled to be able to make this latest round of donations larger than ever before.”
The Lexicon Charitable Fund is managed in conjunction with Berkshire Community Foundation, an independent charity that connects local people with local causes and projects.
Jon Yates, chief executive at Berkshire Community Foundation says:
“Organisations can be community, PTA or charitable groups.
“They need to be locally based, but groups can apply for a wide variety of projects.
“The scope covered by The Lexicon Charity Fund is extremely wide.”
Examples of projects that might be considered for funding are; a bee conservation project; equipment for providing care; or materials for building a community resource.
In previous years The Lexicon Charity Fund have funded the following organisations:
Pilgrim Hearts Trust received help to provide a freephone line for its client helpline for one year.
Berkshire Search and Rescue Dogs was able to fund a pocket defibrillator.
Meadow Vale Primary PTA received assistance with a pond regeneration project.
Winkfield St. Marys Church of England Primary School was able to create a quiet garden space.
Organisations have four weeks to request funding, because all applications must be received by June 16, 2022.
The Lexicon Charity Fund will award grants to successful applicants in September 2022.
The maximum grant that can be awarded to any individual charity is £5,000.
